Becoming a MetaCreator

NFTs are not just JPGs! How this affects us as creators?

Pedro (my husband) just posted a new video about NFTs from the creative perspective. Like for you and me. The video does not focus on investing in those NFTs you see in the news, but how can we as creatives use the NFT and blockchain technology to either create our projects, sell our art as NFT or work with brands that will soon require us to be MetaCreators.

In his video, which I’m linking below, he goes from the general of what an NFT actually is. Contrary to popular belief, I learned that those are not just JPGs people pay thousands or even millions of dollars, but something else that will change the way we interact with the Internet kind of forever.

Personally, although the idea sounds really appealing, I haven’t created any NFTs. The reason for me is the environmental impact, that although reduced, is still attached to the very nature of anything blockchain. I’m looking into ways to work with some of those technologies to share my work, but I haven’t found something that I feel comfortable with. I’m also not an expert in this matter.

I have this class on my list. I want to incorporate animation into my art, and I heard so many great things about Catalina’s class. I experimented a bit with the Procreate animation function, but I wanted to take this course as well because it also goes into how to work with After Effects and in a way that's not complex at all.

Host Our Planet Week 2022

The organization for OPW22 has already started. I’m looking for hosts!

During the past weeks, I’ve been selecting the new host team for the 3rd edition of Our Planet Week. And this year, I thought to let you guys participate and apply to become a host.

I’ll look at all the applications and see if your activity & work align with Our Planet Week. I’m also considering having the Discord server that now is a to hosts and the community. So I' might be looking into someone who would like to help on that front to help spread climate awareness.
